Lindy Evans

Polymer Clay Sculptor
Meet the Artist
Lindy Evans began her doll-making art in 1975, when she created fabric dolls and animals as gifts for her family and friends. After 17 years as a teacher and administrator in public education, she decided to pursue her career in doll-making on a full-time basis. For 20 years she has created these one-of-a-kind and limited edition images from her studio in Berea, Kentucky.  The expressive faces of her designs are developed from studies of real people. Lindy sculpts her faces from polymer clay, and uses vintage fabrics and toys to adorn her santas, elves and other characters. Dolls range in size from 6" to life-size. For the last 6 years she has used her teaching skills again by offering Make and Take Santa Classes in Berea, Kentucky.

Lindy has juried into many art organizations. She is a member of the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program, The Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, the Southern Highland Craft Guild, and the Studio Artists at Berea: Artists at work program. Her work has been in national magazines, local and regional newspapers, and on Home and Garden Television's Country at Home, Country Style, and Sew Much More. Her work is also featured in Kathy Witt's Contemporary American Doll Artists and Their Dolls in 2005. She appeared on KET's Kentucky Life during the holiday season. Contemporary Doll Collector magazine and Miniature Collector have featured some of Lindy's more recent work.
